  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in cocoa powder and flour until just combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat together more softened butter with remaining sugars until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs followed by flour until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Spread half the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over it, then spread the remaining brownie batter on top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean but moist.
  6. Drizzle warm caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
